surprise monica, you are 40!

{I’m still catching up on some fun things that happened in May}

One of my dearest friends turned 40 on May 15th and to ring in this big day her sister organized a SURPRISE mani/pedi party at Julep in Bellevue.

The unsuspecting birthday girl was having a quick dinner with her mom, thinking that after dinner they were to meet Michelle for a little ‘mother/daughters‘ spa treat.
Little did she know a bunch of her girlfriends were hiding in the back room, waiting to jump out and yell SURPRISE when she walked in. I think it worked and she was totally surprised, great work Michelle!!

{hiding in the back room, surprise should be any second now}

{now for some pampering}
{moms and daughters that go back 35 years}

It was a great night with good friends, tasty treats, wine and pretty painted toes.
Monica, I cherish our long lasting friendship and I look forward to celebrating many, many more birthdays with you.

a babies shower

Our dear friend Ellen is having not just one baby, but two babies. Twins, and it is doubly exciting. On Saturday her mother in law and sister in law threw a beautiful shower full of love, laughter, good food, great friends and a very creative project.

All of the guests decorated personalized onesies for the babies, aren’t they cute??

Two great friends and 3 babies on board.

Sara won the shower game prize!
It’s always a treat to be with the ladies. LOVE.

appreciate all kinds of stuff

My friend Monica is very close to a very big birthday.
Seeking the elixir of youth we opted to try out the newest lunch spot in Bellevue, Evolution Fresh.
We loved it. Whole food that is healthy and clean with a beautiful presentation…
and it was delicious.
I never imagined a Starbucks owned cafe would be live giving, but just look at this interactive art on the walls.
Fresh cold pressed juices on tap. Amazing.

Monica doesn’t look a day over 30. Must be the sweet beet juice.
We met when we were 5 years old and in kindergarden, when I’m reminded to ‘appreciate all kinds of stuff’…I remember how lucky I am to have a life long friendship with this young lady.

Snow days are fun days

Yesterday we had a bonfire with our friends, Sarah & Anders, our dogs
and hot chocolate.
It was a little wet and kind of smokey…but really fun to just get out of the house!!

Sarah sent me her photos from yesterday, and they were way better than mine…
I wanted to post ALL of them, but then she wouldn’t have anything to blog about.
So, I didn’t.
We are blog nerds.

Ringing in the New Year

Jake and I had a few friends over to celebrate New Years Eve, I didn’t really think we would see midnight and usher in 2012….but we did it!!
Between my husband’s insane holiday work schedule and our friends being sleep deprived parents, I thought 10:30 would roll around and everyone would roll out.

Thanks for the lovely evening. xoxo
